Property in the Overberg
is without a doubt some of the most ideally situated in terms of its prime
location in beautiful natural surroundings. The Overberg is
essentially an expanse of land in South Africa’s Western Cape
that lies on the southernmost tip of the African continent and stretches from
the Hottentots Holland Mountains in the west to
Swellendam in the east and from the Riviersonderend
Mountains in the north to the Atlantic and Indian Oceans in the south.

The Bontebok National Park near
Swellendam and the De Hoop Nature Reserve near
Waenhuiskrans / Arniston boast one of the
rarest antelope species in South Africa – the bontebok. Also found
here are mountain zebra, red hartebeest, eland and various other smaller
antelope species. There is even the possibility that one will see a leopard,
but sightings are rare considering the animal’s preference for nocturnal
activities. Perhaps one of the most attractive features about the
Overberg region is the fact that there are no cities, only lush
landscape dotted with towns and villages, each offering a unique history and
cultural delights. There really is no doubt why Cape Town’s
investors are so interested in Overberg property.
